Ballowall
This unique burial chamber overlooking the Atlantic near St Just dates to the neolithic period (ie up to 6,000 years old). The central dome has lost its top but still survives to a height of 10ft. Legend speaks of the small people who are said to dance around the great barrow on moonlit nights. One of the reasons that it has survived so well is that for many years it was covered by mining waste.
