Porthleven
Porthleven Harbour - the building with the clock tower was built on the instructions of William Bickford Smith in the 1880's as a literary institute to provide further education for local children. His grandfather was William Bickford who, in 1831, invented the miners' safety fuse and established a factory at Tuckingmill near Camborne.
